1 1-lb can Dak / Plumrose canned ham
1/3 cup gourmet style barbecue sauce
1/3 cup maple syrup
1-2 dash hot sauce
2 tsp. barbecue seasoning
Non-stick cooking spray
Refrigerate canned ham for at least 1 hour.
Open can as per package instructions. Using a sharp knife carefully cut the canned ham in half from top to bottom to make 2 – 8 oz steaks. Set aside, refrigerate.
In a bowl, combine barbecue sauce, maple syrup and a dash or two of hot sauce. Set aside.
Preheat grill to medium-high.
Season the ham steaks with barbecue seasoning and spray with non-stick cooking oil, being sure to cover all the sides. Grill the ham steaks for 4 – 5 minutes on one side until lightly charred. Turn over ham steaks and continue to grill for 3 – 4 minutes, basting with maple barbecue sauce until lightly charred and heated through.
